Shortly before she died my mother-in-law found this in her house. Well beyond repair, although my father-in-law had the bellows repaired many years ago and had since then made a running repair inside the bellows with Elastoplast!

It is an Ensign Midget A/N probably made in 1934-35 (later models were designated 55). This was the more expensive model or top of the range and cost £2 10s. It has a fragile folding frame finder and a small bright finder which nestles neatly behind the lens panel and swings out for use.

Sporting a focusing Ensar-Anastigmat lens, 3 foot to infinity! Five stops (f 6.3, f8, f11, f16, and f22). Shutter speeds are 1/25, 1/50 and 1/100 along with B and T. They came with a beautiful moroccan leather slip case. It also has ingenious fold out hinged spool holders to aid loading. Size is just a bit smaller than a packet of 20 cigarettes!

On opening the camera I found a roll of exposed film. Fortunately there is still someone offering processing for old films here in the UK at: Process-C22.
